CDL-A Tank Truck Driver

The Company Driver is responsible for the safe, legal, and efficient transportation of food- grade products between shippers, terminals, processing facilities, and customer locations.

• Monday – Friday (5 days) $900.00 - $1000.00 No overnights 
• Sunday – Thursday (5 days) $1100.00 Guarantee Possible 1-2 nights out a week
• Tuesday – Saturday (5 days) $1100.00 Guarantee Possible 1-2 nights out a week
• Monday – Saturday (6 days) $1600.00 Guarantee Possible 1-2 nights out a week
• Sunday – Friday (6 days) $1600.00 Guarantee Possible 1-2 nights out a week
• Part Time also available

Drivers are expected to operate commercial motor vehicles in compliance with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, company policies, food safety standards, and customer requirements.

Essential Functions

Transportation and Delivery:

• Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle, including (but not limited to) tractor and tanker trailer combinations.

• Transport food-grade products over local, regional, and long-haul routes.

• Conduct safe loading, unloading, transfer, and delivery operations while adhering to customer and food safety requirements.

• Review shipping papers, bills of lading, wash tickets, product transfer documentation, and delivery instructions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Plan and execute routes in accordance with Hours-of-Service regulations, customer requirements, and company expectations.
• Operate vehicles safely in varying traffic, road, weather, and environmental conditions.

Safety and Compliance:

• Comply with all DOT regulations, FMCSA requirements, Hours of Service rules, and company safety policies.
• Complete required pre-trip, en-route, post-trip, and DVIR inspections.
• Immediately report accidents, injuries, vehicle defects, spills, contamination concerns, citations, and safety incidents.
• Maintain current CDL, medical certification, endorsements, and all required driver qualifications.
• Participate in DOT-required drug and alcohol testing programs and company safety initiatives.
• Utilize proper PPE and follow all customer and company safety procedures.

Food Safety and Product Integrity:

• Maintain product integrity throughout transportation and delivery.
• Verify wash documentation, seals, and product compatibility before loading.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, contamination prevention, and quality assurance procedures.
• Report any actual or suspected contamination, food defense, or product quality concerns immediately.

Customer Service:

• Professionally represent the company at customer, supplier, and public locations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, operations personnel, customers, and maintenance staff.
• Maintain a positive and professional relationship with customers while resolving routine delivery issues.
• Ensure timely pickup and delivery performance.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and comply with Company dress code, hygiene, and grooming standards to support customer expectations, food safety requirements, and the professional image of the Company.

Administrative Responsibilities:

• Accurately complete electronic logs, trip reports, inspection reports, bills of lading, and related documentation.

• Utilize onboard technology, ELD systems, communication devices, and transportation management software as required.
• Maintain accurate mileage, fuel, detention, and expense records.

Equipment Care:

• Properly operate and maintain assigned tractor, trailer, pumps, hoses, fittings, and related equipment.

• Inspect hoses, valves, fittings, ladders, catwalks, dome lids, and safety equipment before and after use.
• Report maintenance concerns promptly and accurately.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)

• Tanker endorsement required

• Two years of CDL-A driving experience

• Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate

• Minimum age of 21 years

• Acceptable motor vehicle record and safety performance history

• Tanker and food-grade experience preferred

• Sit and remain alert while operating a commercial vehicle for extended periods.
• Frequently enter and exit tractor cabs throughout the workday.
• Climb tanker ladders and access trailer catwalks safely.
• Work at heights while performing inspections and loading/unloading activities.
• Frequently connect and disconnect hoses, fittings, and transfer equipment.
• Lift, push, pull, carry, and maneuver up to 75 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, and climb regularly.
• Maintain sufficient visual acuity, hearing, and depth perception necessary for safe vehicle operation.
• Wear required personal protective equipment.

Working Conditions

The employee regularly works:

• Outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, and humidity.
• Around moving vehicles, industrial equipment, loading facilities, and customer locations.
• Near noise, vibration, dust, fumes, and varying environmental conditions.
• On irregular schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel as business needs require.
