Job Description

OTR typical runs from DRIVERS home area through the country minus the NORTHEAST.

We value drivers home time and work diligently to get you through your home domicile once a week. That time may be for a day or night, couple of hours or prior approved day off. Our policy is one week on the road equals one day off. If 2 or more days are requested, 2 or more weeks on the road are required. One day off for each week on the road up to 4 days. 34-hour resets are not typical down time with adequate hours of service including recap hours and must be approved. Equipment must be active by the 5th day, if more than 4 days off are requested and approved, arrangements must be made with your manager to leave equipment at one of our designated terminals prior to home time.

Equipment is primarily Freightliner Cascadia’s w/Auto transmission; however, you may be assigned other models as available such as Internationals, Peterbilt, or other. Choice of equipment is not an option and brand-new trucks are not available to new drivers. However, C.R. England’s fleet of tractors are rotated ever 3 years, and you may be assigned a newer tractor. Pre-Pass and Easy-Pass are installed in every tractor for tolls and port of entry bypass when directed to do so. Any separation of employment with C.R. England will require you to return all equipment to one of our designated terminals as directed by your manager. Failure to return equipment as directed may have a negative reporting on DAC (Drive-A-Check/HireRight) records.

AFTER HIRE:

  • ALL New drivers to CR England will attend a 3-day Advanced Post Hire Education- APHE.
  • This will be in truck and classroom training. Training will include, reefer, coupling, pre-trip, trip planning, fueling, backing and Platform Science.
